RADIO CONTROL MODEL YACHTING
Within WWYSA we have an active and friendly radio control model yachting club that normally meets at 2pm on Thursday afternoons and 10am on Saturday mornings. The focus is on series racing and the primary yacht classes are the affordable Dragonforce 65 (DF65) and RG65 yachts.
A large sailing area allows a wide variety of buoyed courses to be set out to suit the wind conditions of the day. In the large club foreshore and headland areas we have a choice of control positions from which to sail.
Should the weather be poor the superb new clubhouse provides the possibilities for tea, talk and shelter — although the weather rarely prevents sailing completely.
Trophies are presented at the end of each season to the winners of the four keenly fought race series. Year-round sailing is the norm with an informal frostbite series for the hardy during winter months.
Non-racers are very welcome — just come along to sail and enjoy the scenery. Although the DF65 and RG65 are preferred for racing, other craft can be sailed.

WHAT WE SAIL
THE BOATS
Dragonforce 65 (DF65)
The DF65 is the class of choice for club racing at WWYSA. Affordable, easy to rig and quick to learn, they provide seriously competitive racing in a compact 65cm hull. An ideal entry point for anyone new to RC yachting.
RG65
The RG65 is an international class raced worldwide. Also 65cm in length, it sits alongside the DF65 as one of our primary racing classes. Competitive, technically interesting and great fun on the water.
